Fortnite recently had a major update for Season 3 and it comes with interesting map changes, new weapons, and other intriguing Easter eggs that are absolutely worth exploring. The new updates come with interesting changes that we have expected to happen as most of them were already teased early this season. There are new locations, new weapons, and new skin to unlock. While most of us are excited about the new rideable vehicles for Season 3, the latest update doesn’t include them yet but we can spot some interesting Easter eggs related to them. Without any further ado, here are some of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Updates you should not miss.
The Old Map is Reemerging
The latest Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Update takes us to the same sunken map but with drastic improvement. The water level is seemingly going down and some of the flooded areas are starting to reemerge. Steamy Stacks, for instance, is no longer half-flooded by water and the Kevin laboratory is once again accessible. Landmarks like Risky Reels, Frenzy Farm, and Craggy Cliffs are starting to reemerge as well. Although they are still flooded with water, you can still see how the water level drops down which also reveals some of their notable structures. If the water continues to drop, this might also reveal new landmarks including the rumored Ruins which will serve as Aquaman’s domain. New islands also appeared after the recent update including the small group of islands inhabited by the cute blobs. They are seemingly building a new empire.
The Flare Gun and Deployable Upgrade Bench
One of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Updates that thrilled us all is the addition of new items. This includes the much-awaited Flare gun. Flare Gun can now be obtained from loot chests, supply drops, and llamas. This weapon comes with multiple special purposes that everybody can take advantage of. First, you can use it as a weapon that can inflict 60 damage to the enemy. Secondly, Flare gun’s most desirable feature is that it can set structures on fire. You can effectively use this weapon to destroy your opponent’s fortification. Finally, Flare gun can also be used to locate an opponent by firing shots into their vicinity.
Another interesting addition is the new deployable Upgrade bench. Upgrade benches can normally be found in random locations across the map. It allows you to upgrade your weapon’s rarity as long as you have collected the right amount of building material. The latest update introduced a deployable upgrade bench. Just like the flare gun, you can obtain this item through chests, supply drops, and llama. You can also find them as ground loots. You can deploy the bench anywhere you want.
The Return of LTMs
Limited Time Modes are back! Limited Time Modes or LTMs are events in Battle Royale. They feature modifications to the rules set and mechanics, such as a limited loot pool or even 50 vs. 50 combat. LTMs usually last about a week and are available as an option in the Queue menu in the Lobby when featured. Fortnite has removed LTM last season and everyone is now thrilled that Epic is bringing this beloved campaign back. The first LTM to explore this week is the One-Shot Duos but according to Epic, they will bring brand new LTMs for Season 3 including new takes on Operation: Knockout, a game of upgrades by elimination, and an unconventional kind of fishing contest. That’s definitely something to look forward to.
New Hero Will Arrive
The new update also revealed that there will be a new Hero skin to arrive soon. The mightly arrival of this hero skin will come to the Item shop this coming week. Some leakers discovered interesting game files that revealed Captain America shield textures. They said that the new skin will be revealed on July 4 which coincides with America’s Independence Day. I guess there is no better hero skin to commemorate with this occasion other than Captain America. Other Item Shop skins to be released soon include a Dad Bod Jonesy (that resembles the fat Thor), Bryce 3000 (a fashionista robot), Loserfruit (part of the Icon series), and many more. The popular Renegade dance from TikTok will also be released as an emote soon.
Vehicles Coming Real Soon
The addition of vehicles is apparently not part of the latest updates but they are now being teased through various posters that are randomly scattered on the new map. Much like how they teased Season 3 in Season 2, players can spot posters featuring various vehicles. This is definitely an indication that vehicles are arriving soon in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3. Cars as player-controllable vehicles were first seen on Chapter 2 Season 3 Battle Pass trailer but they are still not accessible up to this day. However, players can spot a suspicious overwhelming number of gas stations on the new map.
In fact, if you ride a Choppa, you’ll see Gas Station legend icons on the map. This might indicate that vehicles will require fuels to make them work (and that makes a perfect sense). There are four posters that you can randomly spot across the map and each comes with their own name. OG Bear is a Pickup Truck, MudFlap is a Semi truck, Prevalent is a hybrid car, and Whiplash is a sports car. Each car possibly has its own characteristic which could turn your battle royale experience even more exciting.
There are probably many more Easter eggs that are not yet discovered and we are just getting started with this new season and we might expect more to come soon. Are we expecting new boss domains aside from Aquaman? Are we getting a new storyline associated with the Marauders? Are we going to witness a new epic event soon? There are definitely many things to look forward to. In the meantime, let us all explore these new exciting Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 updates! Have fun!
