Time is really running fast. It seems like it was just yesterday when the highly anticipated Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 was finally released and now we are currently on its second week. The first week is quite bizarre and I bet most of you were overwhelmed by the new map. Almost half of the old map was submerged into water and we were also introduced to some drastic changes that are probably way beyond expectations. Like the previous seasons, Fortnite offers weekly map challenges that players can accomplish to get additional XP points in return. The first week might be over but you are not too late to complete the challenges. Here’s the Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges Guide for you.
Generally, there are seven Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges you need to complete. We’re listing them in order based on their levels of difficulty.
Find Gnomes at Homely Hills
It seems like the tales of the gnomes are not yet over because one of your first tasks for this new season is to locate them in the landmark called Homely Hills. The Homely Hills can be found on the Northwest side of the new Pleasant Park. Here, you will spot a small group of houses. The place is seemingly peaceful and not really a hotspot for players so you can easily finish this mission in a single match. There are 5 gnome statues scattered randomly in this area. You can spot them near boulders and trees. You can also spot one inside the house and another one in a backyard. Take note that you do not have to destroy these gnomes. Just tap the hand icon to interact. You only need to locate 3 gnomes in this area to complete this challenge.
Land at Misty Meadows and Finish Top 25
One of the easiest Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges is this task. All you need to do is to drop at the Misty Meadows and try your best to survive. This challenge will only become tricky when the Misty Meadows is overly crowded by players. Now that most of the map is half-flooded, those areas that remained intact have become the new hotspots. These areas include Retail Row, Lazy Lake, Holly Hedges, and Misty Meadows. Just be cautious and try your best to survive the battle.
Search Chests or Ammo Boxes at Rickety Rig
Searching for loot chests and ammo boxes are two of the most common challenges from the previous seasons and Season 3 is no different. One of the Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges that you need to complete is to visit the new Rickety Rig location and search for 7 chests or ammo boxes. The tricky part here is that Rickety Rig comes with scattered islets and structures. You might find yourself swimming from one area to another just to search for these boxes. Also, Rickety Rig is another hotpot area so be careful and stay alert all the time if you want to complete this simple mission on a single match only.
Damage Loot Sharks at Sweaty Sands
A great way to introduce this new season features is this challenge. One of the trickiest yet cool Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges is to damage a shark at Sweaty Sands. Sharks are one of the newly introduced features of Season 3. They are hostile creatures by default so when they spot a player nearby, they can jump out of the water and attack them. There are two things you can possibly do with the sharks. You can ride them using the fishing pole or you can kill them and grab the loots. Yes, killing sharks will also provide you loots. In fact, you can also feed these sharks with weapons of different rarities to produce loots of higher quality. For this challenge, you just have to damage a loot shark. They are quite tough to destroy so make sure you are armed with enough weapons and ammo to complete this mission.
Deal Damage within 10s of Landing From the Whirlpool at Hydro 16
This is probably one of the trickiest Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges. It is not really challenging but this task has to be done with proper timing and precision and possibly with a little bit of luck. The goal is to use the whirlpool located at Hydro 16. The Hydro 16 can be found on the east side of Misty Meadows. If you have played the previous season, Hydro 16 is the huge dam near the former Slurpy Swamp. Now what makes it tricky is that you have to find an opponent right after you hit the ground after using the whirlpool. UPDATE: After the latest update of Fortnite, the Hydro 16 Location is now replaced by The Yacht.
Eliminations at Steamy Stacks
One of the difficult Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges in the Elimination at Steamy Stacks. Well, killing opponents is indeed a tricky challenge in the first place. However, what really makes this task a little tricky is the fact that Steamy Stacks is no longer a hotspot. The area was half-flooded which makes it quite unpopular for many players. Therefore, eliminating players in Solo or Squad mode will be time-consuming. You might spot a couple of players on a single match and you might end up entering various matches just to complete this challenge. Ideally, you might want to play Team Rumble mode until the Eye of storm closes in that area.
Enter Catty Corner Vault
Another of the trickiest Fortnite Season 3 Week 1 Challenges. To access the Catty Corner vault, you need to defeat Kit, the boss of Catty Corner. It is located outside of the former box factory. Aside from knocking down the boss, the area is heavily guarded by henchmen and as well as security cameras. You either need an impressive stealth skill or better yet eliminate all the henchmen nearby. This task is best achieved in Duo or Squad mode but if you think you are skillful enough, go ahead a bravely enter this area in Solo mode and grab all the amazing loots inside the vault.
