The Gameplay

The game will surely not disappoint you with its visually-stunning graphics. It comes with a simple set of mechanics and basic game controls. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t follow a certain plot or if there is, the game doesn’t put much depth into it which could have made Brave Blades even more engaging. Despite the lack of storyline, the game is still worth exploring. Much like most RPGs, the game starts with a character selection. Brave Blades offers you four different classes to choose from including Mage, Barbarian, Hunter, and Paladin. Each comes with its unique skillset and basic attributes. They also wield special weapons that are exclusive for their respective class.

After creating your character, the game will prompt you immediately to the game field. Surprisingly, it doesn’t offer any brief tutorial. You will start with your first quest right away. The game interface is what you can commonly see in most RPGs today. You can navigate around the 3D map using the virtual joypad on the bottom left of the screen. The tap-based buttons on the bottom right are reserved for your skills while interactions with NPCs and other players are done by simply tapping them directly. Your quest log can be found on the far left side while the Inventory, Menu, and AFK buttons are found on the other side. There will be moments where the screen can be overpopulated by different buttons especially when you already unlock their functions.

Auto-Play and Quest System

Some MMORPG players prefer the easy and fast Auto-Play system while others still prefer the classic manual gameplay. Interestingly, Brave Blades offers them both. The game is set for Auto-Play by default but you can always switch it to manual gameplay at any given time. For Auto-Play, all you need to do is to tap the specific quest on your quest log and your character will automatically move towards the next destination. Whether it is combat or simply locating specific NPC, everything will be done automatically. You just have to sit back and relax and let the AI do the job. You can activate the Auto Move but put the battle in Manual and turn it to skill-based combat.

If you are aiming for a bigger challenge or if you want to play the game in a classic MMORPG manner, you can turn off the Auto-play. For manual gaming, you can navigate the area using the joypad and use your skills using the tap-based buttons. Navigation, however, can be a challenge. First of all, the camera is fixed on a certain perspective but you can zoom in and zoom out the view. Second, there is no visible navigational map. The only way to access the map is to tap the location (located on the top right corner). This will open a new panel showcasing the map and your current location along with the coordinates. The map will feature markers to indicate where exactly you must go and who exactly you must approach.

Multiple Quest, Mounts, Pets, and Multiplayer Functions

Another great thing about this game is the fact that you can deal with multiple quests. Main Quests are the major quests that you need to accomplish sequentially while EXP quests will require you to kill monsters. There are also Side Quests that you can take optionally and grants you generous rewards in return. The game also comes with an impressive Mount System. There are more than 50 different kinds of mount in this game that allows you to move from one area to another much faster. Above all, you also have the opportunity to recruit, tame, and summon pets and allows them not just to accompany you in your journey but also to assist you in your battle.

Of course, the game will not be completed without the Multiplayer function. The game comes with both cooperative and PvP campaigns. You can add other players on your friend list and form a squad so you can help each other when raiding dungeons and defeating wild bosses. PvP, on the other hand, can be accessed through Arena battle and Guild wars. They also offer various events that you can freely participate and earn great rewards in return. The upgrade system is also an important feature of the game. There are over 50 tiers of ascension to increase your power and glory and turn you into an effective hero.

With superb graphics and well-polished gameplay, Brave Blades is indeed a great addition to your game list. The lack of the storyline can be a downside but with the excellent quality of Brave Blades, this game is still worth exploring. Appearance-wise, Brave Blades is an absolute visual delight.
