The Gameplay

Grow Stone Online is a unique RPG in so many ways. The game wonderfully combined both retro and modern elements which set it apart from other typical RPGs. As mentioned above, the main goal is to guide your character and help him find the legendary stone. Unlike your typical RPG, Grow Stone Online features elements from popular merging games while incorporating it with compelling RPG elements. The game comes with a very unique combat system that involves crafting, mining, and merging items during the actual battle.

As soon as the game starts, it prompts you right away to the main town. After a brief tutorial, the player will be sent to the first battlefield to start exploring and hunting for mobs. Those who have played Pokemon in Gameboy consoles will find a lot of notable similarities in Grow Stone Online especially in terms of its pixel-art graphics. The 2D pixel art seems like a great homage to classic RPGs yet it is wonderful to see how they incorporate the game with modern elements including a unique combat system and exciting multiplayer functions.

Explore and Hunt

You can freely navigate the map using the virtual joypad located on the bottom right portion of the game screen. There are two icons on the lower left which allow you to Attack and to Chat nearby players. As you explore the maps, you will encounter an overwhelming and seemingly endless number of enemies along the way. These monsters are mostly hostile and your character must be strong enough to survive. To make him more efficient in the battle, it is very important to explore and hunt for new types of stones. It is interesting to note that your character is not wielding a specific weapon. All you have are throwable stones.

Located below the game screen is a panel divided into four rows and eight columns. This will serve as your bag or inventory. Once you have obtained two identical stones, you can drag them together to form a new one. The newly created stone is relatively more powerful than the previous form. Much like any RPGs, Grow Stone Online will also let the players explore dungeons and mines. Normally, most of the rare stones can be obtained by exploring dungeons. However, just be mindful that dungeons and minds are more challenging to explore as they feature powerful and more hostile monsters. You will most likely encounter powerful bosses in these areas so you must be skillful and powerful enough to defeat them. Better yet, you can look for allies and engage yourself in epic cooperative battles. You can invite players to join you in your adventure and take down those challenging field bosses.

Looting is also a common practice in Grow Stone Online. The game comes with a crafting system that allows you to create armor, hats, costumes, and a multitude of powerful items and gears. To top it all, the game also features a Pet system. You can capture pets and let them accompany you in the battle. Each pet comes with its own unique skills that you can take advantage of. The game also has a PvP system that allows you to fight against other players in real-time.
