When Ragnarok became popular way back in the early 2000s, many other MMORPGs came into action. There are notable PC games like Rose Online, RAN, and more. Interestingly, one of the most popular MMORPGs is FlyFF that features the magical world of Madrigal. What separates FlyFF to other MMORPGs during its time is the fact that players will be given the ability to fly using either a broom or a hoverboard upon reaching a certain level. This enables players to explore not just Madrigal but other magical worlds nearby. Unfortunately, the popularity of MMORPG for PC suddenly declined after the mobile games emerged. Wonderfully, FlyFF fans have great reason to rejoice as FlyFF Legacy will start to dominate the mobile platform.
The Gameplay
Legacy indeed! FlyFF is undeniably a game-changer. It comes with many great features that no other MMORPGs have ever done. FlyFF Legacy allows old and new players to experience the kind of legacy that FlyFF has created. This time, however, it is done in a fast-paced manner. It’s actually a downside to most FlyFF fans as they will never get to experience the crazy adventure that the predecessor has offered but everything in the game is purely nostalgic. The game will feature the same world and the same monsters. You get to experience exploring the map of Flaris and Saint Morning and you will also encounter iconic mobs like NyangNyang, Prankster, and many more.
As soon as the game starts, the player will be asked to select his preferred class. The game features three classes to choose from including Mercenary, Magician, and Acrobat. Each comes with their own unique skills and attributes whereas Mercenaries are melee-type heroes with Strength-centric skills and attributes. Magicians are Intelligent-focused while Acrobats are more into Dexterity and long-range combats. The difference between the original PC version of FlyFF and FlyFF Legacy is the process of getting a Second Job class. You can transfer your character to a Second Job class after achieving Rebirth 5.
Walk, Run, and Fly
The best thing about FlyFF Legacy is how it managed to capture everything we enjoyed from the original game. It might be fast-paced which means you no longer need to spend too much time dealing with certain types of enemies but you can experience almost everything. Like most MMORPG today, FlyFF Legacy comes with Auto Quest and Auto Combat features. It means that you can just tap the given task and the character will automatically move towards the NPC. Combat is generally skill-based. You can either activate the Auto-combat feature or you simply take the battle the old fashion way (which is personally better).
FlyFF will not be Flyff without its signature element. Players, upon reaching a certain level, will be able to get Brooms which enables them to fly and travel to certain areas. The downside, however, is that you cannot literally fly your way out. The game will show you the character levitating using the broom but will transport you immediately to the next place. Interestingly, if you upgrade the broom and reach a certain level, you will be able to get Wings and fly.
Weaponry, Dungeons, and Party System
Weaponry is also something you should not miss with FlyFF Legacy. Each class has certain types of weapons available exclusively for them. Mercenary can wield both sword and ax while Magicians can use staff and wands. Acrobats, on the other hand, specializes in bows and yoyos. Weapons can be bought from in-game merchants or be looted from monsters. They also come in various rarities as well. It is also interesting to note that this game will immediately feature the Pet system and Riding system even at the early stages. You can tame and pet various creatures that will accompany you in your adventure.
Dungeons are also common in FlyFF and you will encounter many of them in this game. Just be mindful though that this game will still focus on accepting the main quest in order to progress in the story. Side quests might involve exploring various dungeons, collecting various items, and many more. Of course, this is not an MMORPG without its multiplayer function. This game allows you to join either a party or a guild. Party is where you can invite players and join you in various quests while Guild is more of a long term engagement with other players.
The Verdict
Those who enjoyed playing the original PC version of FlyFF will surely find this game equally fascinating. FlyFF Legacy managed to capture most of the engaging elements from its predecessor. Appearance-wise, FlyFF Legacy is truly a visual delight. Not just it captures the same amazing world of Madrigal but it also retains the quality. This game is wonderfully optimized for the mobile devices while providing the same captivating quality from its original PC version. There are so many areas to explore in this game. Just be mindful that this MMORPG requires a stable internet connection in order to enjoy the game to its full extent. Currently, FlyFF Legacy is available for both Android and iOS devices and you can download this incredible MMORPG absolutely for Free. Have fun!
