From the same team behind highly acclaimed games like the Asphalt and Modern Combat series comes a new game that will take you to another action-packed adventure. Endless Survival is another take of Gameloft to horror survival genre following the success of their Zombie Anarchy. The Gameplay

The mechanics for this game are generally simple yet the players are strongly encouraged to establish the most effective strategy to maximize their chances of surviving. This is not just your typical horror survival where you play the role of a lone survivor and you have to fight against an overwhelming and seemingly interminable number of zombies. Endless Survival comes with an interesting twist. Your character came in contact with a mysterious relic known as the Grimoire. It’s a powerful relic that has chosen you to become immortal. Apparently, this relic has the power to reincarnate you so whenever you get killed, you will just respawn back to its shrine.

Just because you got immortality doesn’t mean you have nothing else to worry about. The game will still take place in the post-apocalyptic environment dominated by mutated zombies. Your goal is to build a sustainable community by looking for more survivors and by teaming up with other players to survive the catastrophe. The game comes with easily manageable controls. You can navigate the 3D map using the virtual joypad and interact with your environment using the designated action buttons. It comes with an impressive inventory management system, huge weaponry and gear variants, and many others. It feels like the game managed to correct or add all the elements that are notably missing from other games that fall into the same category.

Scavenge, Upgrade, and Survive

Another great thing about Endless Survival is the fact that you are heading a clear path in this game. Unlike other horror survival games, this one comes with a Quest system. These missions should be taken sequentially in order to progress to the main story. Some of which will ask you to scout unexplored areas to look for other survivors while some missions will ask you to scavenge for resources. One of the major goals in this game is to build a safe haven and create a sustainable community. Your camp is mainly composed of different stations including the Grimoire Shrine which serves as the heart of your camp. From time to time, you will be urged to serve the Grimoire and unlock various features in return.

Other stations include Armory, Gunsmith, Quarry, Lumberyard, Trading Station, and more. Each of these stations comes with a different purpose. There’s also Riley who was your initial companion before you came in contact with the Grimoire. Her purpose is to help you recover your items if ever you get killed in any of your mission. Take note that once you get killed, you will lose all your items and the only way to recover them is through Riley’s help. Upgrading the stations is also mandatory for Endless Survival to unlock new features of the game. It is also necessary to give you access to other areas. Each Quest will also reward you with items and resources. You can also consider purchasing a Battle Pass to receive greater rewards and to unlock other special items.

Inventory Management, Weaponry, and Multiplayer Elements

It is also interesting to note that this game comes with a well-polished inventory management system. Normally, for a game like this, a user has a backpack that will store all items in one place. In Endless Survival, your inventory is sorted in different categories. These categories include Weapons, Tools, Gear, Consumables, Resources, and Quest Items. Each category comes with a decent number of slots. You can carry up to 10 weapons (8 slots for your backpack and 2 slots for the weapons you carry). You can use two active weapons during the battle but you can always switch them any time. However, weapons will vary in terms of their damage rate, fire rate, range, reload time, and ammo capacity.

Be sure to carry and match weapons wisely. Zombies will also vary in terms of their behavior, stamina, and abilities. You might also encounter bosses with powerful skills so be cautious and be wise when picking the right weapon. It is also ideal to upgrade them to make them more efficient in the battle. You must also observe their durability because once they broke, you can not use them during combat. They can be repaired though but you have to revisit your camp. Exploring other areas of the world map will consume water. The farther the distance from your camp, the more water it requires. Luckily, you have a well on your camp that collects and refills water bottles for you.

As for the multiplayer elements, this feature can be accessed through the game’s clan system. Endless Survival comes with a cooperative campaign where you can team up with other players for various missions. You can help each other in defeating a huge horde of zombies or strong field bosses. There is also an interactive chat system that allows you to broadcast messages either to your team or to everyone. You can also view their current whereabouts just by looking at the world map.

The Verdict

Endless Survival is indeed a well-polished horror survival game that is wonderfully optimized for mobile devices. Although the game is currently on the early access and probably still under development, you can already see the game’s huge potential. It comes with a commendable inventory system, a huge weaponry collection, and a compelling plot to explore. Not to mention the impressive crafting system too. Appearance-wise, Endless Survival is an absolute visual delight that treats you with visually stunning graphics.

It is also complemented with well-fitting music that matches perfectly with the game’s eerie and enigmatic theme. The static radio sound is actually a clever addition that adds eeriness in the game.
