From the creators behind Lords Mobile and Clash of Lord series comes another engaging MMORPG that will surely put your skills on a great test. IGG recently launched Mobile Royale, an empire-building strategic MMORPG. If you have experienced playing IGG’s very own Lords Mobile, you will surely find lots of similarities with Mobile Royale. The goal is to build a better kingdom, gather enough resources, and engage yourself in multiple combats against other parties or other players worldwide. Compared to Lords Mobile, however, this game comes with interesting depth in the story which makes it worth exploring. The Gameplay

Mobile Royale follows the same formula of most modern RTS games today. You build an empire, you gather resources,  and you embark on epic battles. Ever since Supercell gave birth to Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, many developers are seemingly utilizing the same mold. With IGG’s Mobile Royale, you can expect to see the same thing but it in a different world with different characters to engage with. Interestingly, the game welcomes you with a cinematic introduction and will treat you with multiple dramatic cutscenes. It comes with impressive character designs in which each hero comes with their own unique introduction and interesting backstory.

The game starts with the character named Branor (a paladin)and you will be guided by another hero named Saoirse. In this game, you will be taken to two different phases; the building phase and the battle phase. During the building phase, you will be prompted to your kingdom and you will be asked to build new structures and upgrade them to make your land more productive and efficient. In the Battle Phase, you will turn against an opposing battalion. Take note that these battles are part of the Main Campaign and they are not PvPs. They are part of your main quest and it is also a way to summon new heroes. PvPs can be accessed when wandering in a world map where you can attack players’ bases and steal their resources.

Build Your Empire

The heart of Mobile Royale lies to its empire-building elements. In the entire course of the game, the player will be asked to construct buildings and upgrade them to their maximum potential. Although you can upgrade all structures at any given time, you still need to follow your quest to progress smoothly. The current quest will be displayed on the bottom left corner of the game screen but you can also access the list of quests on your quest log located on the lower panel. Quest completion grants you with multiple rewards in the form of additional resources, gold coins, gems, and exp points. It is also important to note that your kingdom’s castle serves as the heart of your kingdom. Most buildings can’t be upgraded when the castle is not at the right level yet.

The first part of this game can be managed easily as most upgrades and construction will cost nothing. However, as you progress, the building and upgrade costs will increase exponentially. The same thing goes with the construction and upgrade time. Some upgrades will take a while before completion. In such a case, you can take advantage of the boosters that you can obtain from quests and various reward systems in Mobile Royale. These boosters can expedite the process of construction and upgrade and refrain you from waiting too long. The longer you progress in this game, the more types of buildings you can unlock and each of them comes with their own special function. Some buildings allow you to earn resources while others allow you to trade items. You can also train your troops and your heroes in your kingdom to make them more efficient in the battle.

Recruit Heroes, Explore World Map and Join Guild

When entering battles, the key to winning mostly depends on your heroes. Your initial heroes would be Branor and Saoirse but eventually, as you complete campaigns, you will be able to unlock more. Each hero comes with unique skills. Before you enter a battle, you will be asked to deploy your preferred squad. Make sure to pick heroes wisely before deploying them on a mission. Choose the right combination of heroes for an efficient and effective battle. As far as the PvP campaign is concerned, you can access the world map and interact with other players. The map will showcase various items. You can find all the players and their respective kingdoms, you’ll find wild creatures and areas where you can scout for additional resources.

Tapping a player’s kingdom will offer you three options. You can pick “assembly” to ally with them, you can tap “scout” to steal resources, or better yet “attack” them for an epic conquest. The multiplayer element can also be found through the game’s Guild system. Players can join guilds or build their own. Once you become part of the guild, you can participate in many functions like Guild Tech that allows you to contribute to various researches to increase your guild’s efficiency. You can also access the Guild Shop to purchase special items or be part of a Guild Trade. The handiest function of the Guild Help system. Here, you can either ask help from other members to help you expedite construction and upgrade time and vice versa.

The Verdict

Mobile Royale is definitely a great RTS game. The concept is definitely not new but the game is still worth exploring. They captured almost every element that we enjoyed from IGG’s Lords Mobile while successfully incorporating some interesting depth especially with the story.  Appearance-wise, this game is an absolute visual delight that treats you with impressive graphics. It is also perfectly matched with well-fitting music and audio effects that make the game even more fascinating. Not to mention the dramatic introduction for each character or heroes you unlocked.
