Have you ever imagine what will happen if you merge MMORPG with Idle game elements? Well, we know that most MMORPGs today are using lots of Auto-play features but not to a point where the game is totally hands-free. Interestingly, it seems like HiPlaying Game managed to pull it off with their Eternal Legend. Described as a Hands-free Idle MMORPG, Eternal Legend will take you to a fast-paced MMO adventure. This is more of a “no-brainer” RPG as you can just let the game work on its own and let the character progress without or with less player interaction. The Gameplay

The mechanics of the game are generally simple and easily manageable. As mentioned above, this is more of a no-brainer game and it doesn’t require you to strategize your battle nor to interact with NPCs. The game is clearly described as an Idle MMORPG and that’s what it is. Like most MMORPGs though, the game starts with a character selection. Eternal Legend offers three classes to choose from (each available for Male and Female genders). Although it is not clearly defined in the game as they were only represented by icons, the three classes seem like a warrior, a mage, and a rouge which are very common characters in almost all RPGs.

Take note that the game is done and played in a very fast-paced manner. As soon as the game starts, it prompts you right away to the battlefield. The game will not highlight any deep stories for the players to follow and explore which could be a notable downside to many. This is a role-playing game and any RPG deserves a decent story! There is no need to learn about navigation because your character moves automatically from one area to another. Skills are also automatically executed and your character is constantly engaged in a battle. At first, the game will still ask you to interact but as soon as you activate the Autoplay, everything will work even without any interaction. You just have to sit, relax and watch your character progress.

Auto Quest and Multiple Upgrade Functions

Probably the greatest highlight of this game is the Auto-Play function. The game works even you are not actively playing it. So whenever you are in class or at work, you can simply activate the AFK mode and revisit the game at any time you want. While in AFK, the character will still progress from one area to another and will clear the stages without any player interaction. It means that you still earn experiences, money, and valuable items even you are not around. It might be an idle game but Eternal Legend will still need interactions from the players. When in AFK mode, you cannot enter any PvP combat, you cannot raid dungeons, and you cannot go on epic boss battles. You have to manually tap their buttons to enter.

Another thing that AFK can’t do is the upgrade. Interestingly, Eternal Legend comes with multiple upgrade functions. There are just too many upgrade features in this game. Also, the game’s interface can be a little over-populated by different icons of different functions. Located below the game screen are the major buttons that will give you access to Role, Skill, Daily, Forge, and Bag. Under the Role page, you get access to your character’s overall gear. You can equip all the items you looted in this page. It also gives you access to other upgrade functions like Ring Spirit, Divine Item, Samsara, Treasure, and Runes. Skill page, on the other hand, allows you to upgrade your skills that can drastically improve your attributes and make you more efficient in the battle. It also gives you access to Qi, Meridian, Secret, and Deity. Forge allows you to intensify your weapons and gear and make them more powerful and effective while Bag serves as your inventory.

Combat, Dungeons, and Bosses

Of course, Eternal Legend will not be considered as MMORPG without a multiplayer function. The multiplayer element in this game can be found in Combat. Simply tap the Combat button on the far right side of the screen to access the PvP mode. The game will give you a list of nearby real-time online players. It also discloses their current level so you can just pick one that matches yours. Tap the challenge button and it will automatically engage you in a battle. The combat is also done automatically and you just have to wait if your character will win or not. Interestingly, the game also comes with a comprehensive Guild System.

Dungeons, on the other hand, are meant to be explored alone. Simply tap the Dungeon button and it gives you a list of available dungeons and the rewards you can possibly earn right after you defeat them. The same thing goes with Boss Battles. Tap the Boss button on the lower right corner of the game screen and it gives you the list of bosses that you can challenge. It is also interesting to note that Eternal Legend comes with a generous drop rate. Whether you are on a normal mission or better yet dealing with stronger enemies in dungeons and field bosses, you can expect to loot some valuable and rare items. The game also supports multiple roles that allow you to build a new character of a different class right after you have reached a certain level.

The Verdict

Eternal Legend is a very unique MMORPG. It is wonderful to see how they managed to merge two different genres and build one exciting game out of it. Appearance-wise, Eternal Legend is an absolute visual delight. The character designs are undeniably superb and the upgrade system makes it even more impressive. The sound effect, however, needs some improvement to make it more engaging. If you are looking for a challenge, Eternal Legend may not offer you much but what you can really appreciate here, just like in most idle games, is the overall progression. It’s nice to see how your character grows from simple adventurer to a mighty badass hero.
