Mystera Legacy is a Free-to-play Sandbox MMORPG that takes you to an epic adventure. This game comes with lots of retrospective elements that will, somehow, reminds you of RuneScape and Minecraft. In this game, your main objective is to take control of an avatar and navigate around the 2D virtual world. The player will be asked to explore and scout for various items in order to survive the challenging environment. You will also be asked to craft and build items from different resources that you can loot from your enemies. Generally, the game is simple yet surprisingly addictive and fascinating. The Gameplay

The mechanics for the game are generally simple and easily manageable. As soon as the game begins, it will ask players to select their preferred server. Currently, there are 10 available servers in this game that are referred to here as worlds. Select the server appropriate for your current location and it will prompt you immediately to the Newbie Village. The game features a retro-inspired 2D pixel art graphics which you might find extremely nostalgic. Those who have played classic SNES RPG like Legend of Zelda and the old Final Fantasy games will find Mystera Legacy equally fascinating.

Every player begins with the Newbie Village. Knowing that this is a sandbox game, players can do almost anything. There are no rules and there is no storyline as well. The lack of storyline is quite a downside for Mystera Legacy because it could have made this game even more engaging. Despite the missing elements, the game still has many surprisingly great features to offer. Much like a typical mobile RPG, you can navigate around using the virtual joypad. It is also the same button you use to attack nearby enemies.

Build and Craft

One of the most engaging highlights of Mystera Legacy is the ability to build and craft items from various resources. Similar to how Minecraft works, Mystera Legacy will let your character gather resources and craft items from them. You collect logs from trees, stones from boulders, metals from mines, and meat from cattle and other animals that you will encounter along the way. Picking up items could be quite a trick as well. Drops from animals and monsters can be obtained by moving your character on top of the item. The image will appear on the far right side of the game screen. Tap the icon and it will be sent directly to your inventory.

Crafting items is equally tricky. To do so, tap the Crafting icon (just beside the Bag or Inventory icon) and it will show you a small panel that lists down all the items you can craft. If you know how Crafting on Minecraft works, then you should know the drill. To get the details about the item, just tap the Info button and it will give you the requirements. If you have enough resources, the Build button will become clickable. Tap the Build button and the item will go right to your inventory.

Quests and Skills

It might be a sandbox game where you can do almost anything without limits but you can still challenge your character by completing quests. Unlike typical RPG, you no longer need to interact with NPCs just to accept missions. Simply access your Character profile (tap the Character button on the upper right corner of the game screen). Head over to the Quest section and it will display your available missions. Players can only get 2 quests at a time and they should be taken sequentially. Meaning, you cannot unlock a new quest without completing the first set.

Your character is also capable of learning skills. You must earn enough myst in order to unlock them. Myst, on the other hand, serves as a virtual currency in this game which you can earn by killing enemies. Aside from acting as a currency, your skills will also consume myst so better use them wisely. Other noteworthy features include the ability to build houses and also the ability to build or create guilds. Mystera Legacy comes with a party system that allows you to find new allies and help you fight powerful bosses. Farming also plays a crucial role in this game.

The Verdict

Mystera Legacy is an interesting game that comes with simple yet surprisingly addictive features. The first thing you will surely appreciate here is your progress. Similar to Minecraft’s survival mode, this game keeps you hooked as you progress. Appearance-wise, Mystera Legacy features a nostalgic atmosphere with its 2D pixel graphics and well-fitting retro music that makes it even more engaging. The easy controls and quest system are both interesting addition to this sandbox game too.
