Have you ever imagine what will happen if the world submerged into a massive flood? Well, this game will somehow give you the idea. Idle Arks is an incremental game created and published by Bhome. It takes you to a unique idle game in which your main goal is to build arks that will navigate around the world to look for remaining survivors. It is generally a simple yet fun and surprisingly addictive game that you can freely explore with or without an internet connection. If you are looking for an ideal time waster game, Idle Arks is surely a great candidate. Feel free to explore this addictive incremental game and see what else Idle Arks has to offer.
The Gameplay
The mechanics for Idle Arks are generally simple and easily manageable. This game doesn’t really require much skills and since it is an idle game, Idle Arks will still progress with or with less interaction from the player. As mentioned above, the objective is to build arks and you will basically start from nothing. As soon as the game begins, it will introduce you to a character named Adam, a lone survivor. You will find yourself alone on a small island with a small raft nearby. The raft is initially built with a small floor and a tree that will serve as your main resources for wood. Once you have gathered enough wood, you can start building and expanding the raft until you have completed the entire Ark Mission and proceed to the next one.
Wood is your main and only material for this game and you need to gather enough amount to build new rafts and other equally important parts of your ark. Interestingly, Idle Arks feature a simple and user-friendly interface. Located below the game screen are four icons that will give you access to Shop, Boost Fever, Buildings, and Survivors. Above the game screen, you’ll find details about the current time (fast paced), number of woods you have collected, number of gems, level of completion, map, and achievement board. To start building, simply tap the glowing cube and if you have enough woods, your character will automatically build the structure.
Search for Survivors and Unlock Different Arks
Once an Ark Mission is completed (you can track your progress through the Ark Mission bar), you will start sailing your way to your next destination. The new island could either feature another survivor or an animal companion. Interestingly, adding a new survivor on your journey will dramatically increase your efficiency and productivity. Unlike typical idle games, these elements are not upgradable but you can boost their productivity through Boost Fever. The more survivors you have onboard, the more number of woods you can collect. You can also expedite the construction because you can separate the tasks among all the survivors on your ark.
Animal companions can also serve as an additional source of woods and gems. One of the best parts of Idle Arks is the huge variation of arks you can build per Ark Mission. You start the game with a simple wooden raft which will eventually transform into a 3-tier ship. Eventually, you’ll venture to an Egyptian-inspired ship, A Viking-inspired vessel, a modern ship, and many more. Just like a classic idle game, the demands for resources will exponentially increase as you progress which makes the game even more thrilling yet time-demanding at the same time.
Boost Fever, Chests, and Reward System
Although the game works well even without an internet connection, it is more beneficial to play it with an Internet because almost all of the game’s reward system will merely depend on advertisements. The advertisements in this game are cleverly inputted. This is not the type of game that will throw you ads one level after another. Watching ads in this game is entirely based on the player’s discretion. You may choose not to watch any of the ads and continue playing without interruptions but you may also choose to watch these reward videos for quicker progress.
I would like to note that the production of woods is not generous enough for Idle Arks. If you choose not to watch any ads, you are most likely to end up waiting for hours to finish a single construction. The only way you can gather extra resources without watching a video is to pick up floating debris from the water (they appear in the game from time to time along with treasure chests). If you choose to watch the reward videos, you’ll end up earning double or triple the amount of regular wood production. You can access these reward videos by tapping any of the floating chests (you can also pay gems to skip the ads).
Boost Fever also requires you to watch ads. Most of the ads will last for 15 to 30 seconds in exchange for a generous amount of resources, gems, or even a new companion. The Boost Fever, on the other hand, will double the amount of production within a short period of time. Occasionally, you’ll get offers like speed booster and Spins. The roulette will give you a chance to earn gems, woods, additional survivors, or animal companions. You can also double the number of prizes by watching another ad or by paying gems.
The Verdict
Simple, fun, and addictive! I guess that is how you can perfectly describe Idle Arks. This is an ideal time waster game that works perfectly well with or without an internet connection. It is also light enough that won’t hurt much of your phone storage. It is also interesting to note that this game comes with an AFK feature. You will constantly earn wood resources even if you are not actively playing the game. Once you access the game, it will offer you the accumulated number of woods you collected while you are not playing and it even has the option to double the amount by watching a reward video.
Although watching an ad is merely optional, the generous reward system is undeniably tempting. The fact that the game relies much on ads is both a downside and an advantage at the same time. Those who hate ads but want quick progress may find it a little frustrating. Nevertheless, the fact that the developers did not choose to force the ads to pop up and made it optional is a clever approach. Appearance-wise, Idle Arks is an absolute visual delight that treats you with nice pixel-art 3D graphics. Currently, the game is available for both Android and iOS devices and you can download this addictive idle game for free. Have fun!
